Twelfth Night, or ‘What you Will’, is arguably Shakespeare's best-known comedy - an interwoven tale of unrequited love, mistaken identity, merriment, conceit and vanity, intrigue, humiliation and romance.
With such universal themes, Shakespeare appealed to the ordinary people of London, who clattered across the bridges on the Thames to the Globe Theatre when they saw the flag flying, indicating that a performance was about to start.
