Just how much 'charm and vivacity' have you got? Ruth Armstrong is casting for one of the two April productions: Richard Durang's comedy, 'For whom the Southern Belle tolls' and we need your talents!

Auditions will be held at ESOC on Tuesday 9th Dec in room HI and Thursday 11th Dec in room K101 - from 6-8 pm. If you are a member of the club, please email Ruth for the audition slot. If you are not a member please get in touch with the committee.

About the play

There are 4 roles, 2 female, 2 male.

Amanda - mother in her 40's - 50's

Tom - her son ( 20- 30's )

Lawrence - her other son ( 20 - 30's)

Ginny - female guest ( 20- 30's )

Please read the script and the director’s notes that have been distributed to the members. They will provide you with all you need to know! ( Durang gives excellent notes on characters!). We will be doing this with Southern American accents - they don't have to be 100% accurate, but they do have to be sustainable for a 30 minute show! You will get help with this!

The play is a parody of the Tenesse Williams' play 'The glass menagerie' - you can check this out on you tube - the original has Kirk Douglas in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_21D4BI5v0

The period is late 1950's America - in the south.

It is very funny and we should have a lot of laughs doing it!
