NTL WATCH PARTIES

In 2026, we began hosting watch parties at ESOC. At these events, we gather to watch a production from the National Theatre Live. These events are free for all members, thanks to our subscription to NTL.

National Theatre Live is an initiative operated by the Royal National Theatre in London. It broadcasts live and filmed performances of their productions (and those of other theatres) to a range of venues worldwide.

Each play is filmed in front of a live theatre audience, but everything is optimized for the big screen. The actors deliver their performances as they normally would on any other night. To ensure that everyone watching gets the best seat in the house, the camera positions are tailored to capture each production, and the technical teams work closely to make sure every element on stage—such as lighting, hair, and makeup—looks fantastic on screen.
