What is a rehearsed reading anyway?

A rehearsed reading is a term used in theatre to describe a play where the cast are reading from their scripts. The cast take part in rehearsals (that's the rehearsed part!) as they normally would, but often the rehearsals are shorter and more intense. Often, we will also employ movement and some costumes and props for effect. It is a great way to start acting if you are someone who is worried about learning lines! For the ETG, a rehearsed reading is like a mini-play, a scaled down stage, but using props and costume.
