Dancing at Lughnasa

Dancing at Lughnasa, by Brian Friel, tells the story of a boy growing up in Ballybeg, in rural Ireland, as told by the boy looking back from adulthood. The play happens in the summer of 1936, when the boy lived with his mother, her four sisters and one brother, a Catholic priest.

The play has been filmed into a movie starring Merryl Streep.
